Ligence Heart has been validated in original research conducted in the lab of Prof. Andrzej Gackowski at the John Paul II Hospital in Krakow. The study has been published in the Polish Archives of Internal Medicine (PAIM), marking another step forward in validating AI for echocardiography.
The research compared left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) measurements from expert-assessed echocardiography and fully automated AI analysis, using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) as the gold standard reference.
Key findings
- Strong agreement with both CMR (R = 0.87) and expert measurements (R = 0.88–0.90)
- One Loop AI analysis showed even higher alignment with CMR (R = 0.89, κ = 0.75)
- Results confirm strong clinical potential, though further research is needed
These findings further support the role of AI-driven echocardiography as a reliable and accessible tool to assist clinicians in cardiac diagnostics.
