A new study published in the European Heart Journal – Digital Health demonstrates the feasibility of using artificial intelligence for fully automated quantification of heart chambers during pharmacological stress echocardiography.
The research validated AI-based analysis against manual measurements performed by expert echocardiographers, showing strong agreement across key parameters. The AI system automatically identified and measured cardiac chambers throughout stress stages-without operator input-proving reliable performance even in challenging imaging conditions.
Key findings
- Strong correlation between AI and manual measurements across stress stages
- Consistent accuracy in left ventricular volumes and ejection fraction quantification
- Feasibility confirmed for real-time, fully automated AI analysis in stress echocardiography
These results highlight the growing potential of AI to enhance stress echo workflows, enabling faster, more standardized, and objective cardiac function assessments.
